The Swiss Newspaper 24 Heures, reported that the Socialist Party (PSV) requested from the ‘Grand Conseil’ authorities the blockade of 200 employee names and data transmission from the Banque Cantonale Vaudoise (BCV) to the US Department of Justice (DoJ). A debate on the subject is scheduled for next Tuesday; until then no names will be transferred to the DoJ.
The first names could have been transmitted since Monday according to the deadline fixed. The deadline was fixed at 20 days from the notification time. The bank increased the time proportionally to the holiday time for the employees who were on vacation and to 40 days for ex-employees.
The motion presented by the PSV request the authorities to block all and any transfers until the Federal Court rules on the case.
In a public statement, the BCV reiterated that no name will be transferred until the opposition procedures that were initiated have been fully ruled. Only the names of the board members, the managing directors, and some of the department heads have been transmitted with their expressed approval.
