The Banque Cantonale Vaudoise (BCV), a Category 2 bank of the US Program, is authorized to release the names of employees and ex-employees to the US Department of Justice (DoJ).
The ‘Grand Council’ rejected a resolution calling for the bank to await the judgment of the Federal Court before delivering employee names to US authorities. Appeals against the transmission practices were filed in Geneva and Zurich. Those cantonal courts have already ruled in favor of employees who had challenged the practices of banks, specifically the lack of legal basis. As a result of these decisions the Federal Court was seized.
Contacted by Le Temps, the BCV is limited to know that she ‘took note of the vote of the Grand Council’.
The Swiss television RTS also commented on this.
