According to Finews he Luzerner Kantonalbank (LUKB) made a provision of CHF 5m regarding its participation in the US Program under Category 2 for 2013-2014. This amount should cover the costs of data preparation and review and the cost of negotiations says Marcel Hurschler (CFO). Marcel Hurschler confirmed that 30 people, including 10 externs, work on the US project. They did not communicate on the potential fine amount for tactical reasons.
Daniel Salzman (interim CEO) said that they have not found any indicia that Swiss law was breached. He sees 2015 or later as a realistic time horizon to settle the tax issue with the USA.
